Acholi province team struggling to raise a fine of two million shillings slapped on them for the hooliganism that was committed by Acholi province fans during the game between Acholi and Ankole province played in Ntungamo district last month.
Simon Kakaum, Media Officer for Acholi province says the Province has managed to raise about 1.4 million shillings leaving them with a deficit of six hundred thousand shilling.
Kakaum says the money is needed urgently in order to avoid the dismissal of Acholi province from the competition.
Two options were tabled to Acholi Province earlier this month; to either pay a penalty of two million shillings or have their points deducted by three.
Acholi province management board has written a letter to FUFA requesting for an extension of the period for payment.
FUFA have warned that Acholi province risks being disqualified from the competition if their fans continue with hooliganism.
Acholi province is on top of group A with four points and they will play Ankole province on the 9th of October.
