Gulu district leaders led by the RDC, Charles Ichogor have commissioned different school rehabilitation projects in different parts of the district.
Some of the finished Projects handed over to the district by the Contractors include; two drainable latrines at Ogul Primary school, two Units staff quarters at Kitino-tima Primary school, a block of 2 units classrooms at Lamintoo Primary school, two unit classrooms at Pece-Pageya primary and Omel Primary school and a five stance drainable pit latrine at Cet-Kana Primary school
Opio Ateker, the Gulu district Chairman urges all headmasters and pupils to use the facilities that have been constructed properly in order to improve on the standards of education in the region.
Ateker and the leaders however note that construction of staff houses and drainable latrines at Pokogali Primary school were incomplete adding that the contractors were given more time to finish the work before it can be commissioned.
Ceasar Akena, the Gulu district education officer says they expect enrollment in schools and standards of the education in Gulu district to improve.
The project costed over 400 million shillings and it was funded under the School facility grant by the government of Uganda.
